Established by Mercy Memorial's Board of Trustees
the Women's Health Advisory Board recognizes the important role women play
as primary healthcare decision-makers. The Women's Board meets monthly and
serves as advisors to hospital leadership on matters affecting the women of
southern Oklahoma.
Special Initiatives - The Power of Influence
In 2006 a new initiative focusing on the young people of southern Oklahoma
was begun called "The Power of Influence," encouraging adults to
have a positive influence in the lives of children and teens in our
community.
The vision statement for the initiative says: Our vision is a community that
embraces
its children by encouraging its people
to be involved and to empower our children
to make responsible and healthy choices
so they have the opportunity
to live their dreams.
Events Committee
The events committee is responsible for planning and executing all
events sponsored by the Board, including the Spring Women's Forum.
The most recent Women's Health Forum hosted 1,000 women,
focusing attention on women, their role as primary healthcare decision-maker
and their own health and wellness.
New Physicians Committee
The new physicians committee welcomes and helps physicians and their
families who are new to the community to make a successful transition to
life in southern Oklahoma.
