Mercy Memorial and OU Partner to Offer Nursing Degrees in Ardmore
Ardmore — Mercy Memorial Health Center and the
University of Oklahoma College of Nursing have teamed up for the third
year to offer nursing degrees in Ardmore.
There are three tracks offered under this program:
LPN to RN, RN to BSN and a master’s in nursing. Graduates of the LPN and
RN to BSN programs receive a bachelor of science in nursing. An LPN or
RN can get a bachelor’s degree in nine months while the master’s program
requires approximately two years. All three programs meet in Ardmore at
Mercy Memorial once a month.
The OU Nursing program at Mercy Memorial is open to
anyone in the Ardmore area who currently has an LPN or RN license and
wishes to get a BSN.
“The University of Oklahoma is proud to offer these
programs to the people of southern Oklahoma,” said Sandra Butler, OU
site coordinator. “We have seen 14 people graduate from this program and
hope to have many more to come.”
On Wednesday, October 11, 2006, the OU College of
Nursing will hold advisement and enrollment workshops in the cafeteria
at Mercy Memorial (located in the basement) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Advisors will be available for one-on-one discussions.
For more information about the advisement and
enrollment workshops, call Brenda Antuna at (580) 220-6626.
