Mercy Memorial Names Barnard Vice President

Ardmore — Ryan Barnard, PharmD, MBA, has been named Mercy Memorial Health Center’s vice president of support services. Barnard has been with Mercy Memorial since 2004, serving as the executive director of pharmacy and support services.

Barnard received his bachelor’s in biology from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, in 1998 and a doctorate of pharmacy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo and Dallas, Texas, in 2003. He also completed a master’s of business administration from the University of Oklahoma in 2008. Barnard, who was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, lives in Ardmore with his wife, Michelle and their three children.

Barnard was instrumental in Mercy Memorial’s transition to Omnicell, an automated dispensing system for supplies and medication. The intention behind Omnicell is to increase patient safety by ensuring the right medication is given at the right time to each patient. He was also responsible for implementing a government program that helped decrease Mercy Memorial’s drug costs.

“Ryan has served Mercy well over the last five years. His leadership experience and passion for excellence will serve Mercy Memorial well in the years to come,” said Mindy Burdick, Mercy Memorial’s president.

Mercy Memorial Health Center is a member of Mercy Health System of Oklahoma and the Sisters of Mercy Health System.
