Mercy Health Center Gets WiFi
Oklahoma City —
All Mercy Health Center patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers
now have free wireless internet access—aka WiFi—throughout the main
hospital.
“We wanted our patients and visitors to be able to
stay connected when they are at Mercy,” said Jeff Johnston, Mercy Health
Center chief operating officer. “It also gives our physicians the
ability to keep in contact with their offices while they are making
rounds at Mercy. It even provides new parents the opportunity to send
photos of their newborn just moments after the little one arrives.”
Anyone who wants to access the free wireless service
will be able to with their own WiFi equipped laptop, notebook computer
or PDA. WiFi service and support are provided free of charge, and for
any questions, people can contact WiFi technical support at
1-866-497-5377.
And while WiFi service provides a way for people to
stay in touch, WiFi service is separate from any network used to
transmit patient data. In addition to the main hospital, the lobby of
Mercy’s Tower building is also wired for internet access.
