Mercy Home Health Leads the State and the Nation
Oklahoma City —
Mercy Home Health was recently
recognized by the Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality (OFMQ) as one
of the top two Oklahoma agencies providing quality home healthcare. In
addition, Mercy Home Health ranks in the top 10 percent of home health
agencies in the nation.
“This OFMQ Quality Excellence Award honors the fact
that Mercy has met and exceeded the goals set out by the Centers for
Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS),” said Renee Heinley, director of
Mercy’s Care Management and Mercy At Home. “What this means is that only
18 percent of Mercy’s patients who receive home healthcare have to be
re-hospitalized. The CMS national standard goal is for less than 23
percent of home health care patients to be re-hospitalized and we exceed
that goal. We are the gold standard in home healthcare because we
provide excellent care to our patients at home.”
Since 1983, Mercy has provided home healthcare to
Oklahomans. For patients, it means that instead of having to be
hospitalized for longer stays, they are able to recuperate at home with
the help of home health nurses, physicians, therapists, certified home
health aides, social workers and chaplains.
“Every hospital patient across the nation wants to
return to the comforts of their own home as soon as possible,” said
Heinley. “Mercy Home Health provides the opportunity for patients to go
home sooner than normal because we provide extensive care to patients in
their own homes. It’s an incredible service to offer our patients.”
