Quality indicators:

Why should our choice of hospital beds be important to you?

Because it improves your safety as a patient.  Mercy Memorial nurses who are involved in finding ways to prevent falls and pressure ulcers, scouted all the hospital bed options and recommended the new Hill-Rom beds.  The new beds are the highest tech beds on the market - designed to prevent pressure ulcers, reduce patient falls and decrease caregiver back strain.

By 2006, all hospitals may have to comply with a new proposed federal guideline that states hospital beds must not pose any risk of side rail entrapment. The Mercy hospitals in Oklahoma are the only hospitals in the state to already meet this federal regulation.

Hill-Rom hospital beds

State-of-the-art hospital beds improve patient care

Mercy Memorial recently outfitted the entire hospital in new beds.  And not just any bed.

Low to the floor

Designed around patient safety, these beds are the lowest height of any hospital bed in the marketplace. Able to be adjusted to a height of just 18 inches, patients can get in and out of bed with less effort and greater safety.

Built-in scales

Patient weight is important in accurate medication dosages and in measuring recovery progress.  All beds include a built-in scale so patients don't have to move to another location to be weighed.

Caregiver protection

Besides providing greater safety and comfort to the patient, the new technology also protects caregivers by helping them reduce lifting. With the simple push of a button, a nurse can safely turn a patient by deflating and inflating the bed's cushions.

Pressure ulcer reduction

Frequent turning helps prevent bedsores.  Thanks to Mercy Memorial's continued commitment to quality, our patients have the latest and best technology available.
