Mercy Memorial joined hospitals across the nation in
identifying ways to reduce surgical infections and ensure patient
safety. In fact, Mercy Memorial is among the top 10 percent of
hospitals in the nation for reducing surgical site infections.

addition, the hospital uses a time out protocol for correct site surgery
that gives nurses, surgeons and medical teams a final checklist to make sure
they are performing the right surgery on the right patient.
