Pastoral Care

At Mercy Memorial Health Center, the tradition established by the Sisters of Mercy is central to our work of pastoral care - believing that spiritual care is an important dimension to healing and health.

Patients and families often find the support of a chaplain helpful. All of our chaplains are specifically trained to work with patients and their families, and welcome patients of all religious or spiritual beliefs.

Chaplains are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • To listen and offer spiritual and emotional support

  • To accompany those in crisis or grief

  • To share prayer and sacraments and to lead worship

  • To reflect and consult on ethical concerns and decisions

  • To arrange a visit, you may call the hospital operator or ask your nurse to page the on-call chaplain at any time.

The Good Shepherd Chapel, located on the first floor near the GI lab, welcomes visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The chapel is open to people of all faiths and is a place for meditation and prayer.  Everyone is welcome.
