Healthcare at a New Level:
Grounded in the present

Today, Mercy Memorial Health Center stands as the premier regional health care facility in a six-county area of south central Oklahoma, serving a population of more than 100,000.

As the largest hospital in the region, Mercy Memorial provides a full range of medical specialties. With over 100 practicing physicians and more than 950 employees, the hospital  serves more than 8,700 inpatients and records almost 100,000 outpatient visits each year. The emergency room serves approximately 37,000 patients annually.

An economically strong community

Companies have spent over $477 million in capital investments, resulting in more than 700 new Ardmore jobs in the past five years. Ardmore has been recognized as having one of the nation’s top economic development programs for cities its size and has witnessed several significant growth factors in recent years.

The hospital keeps pace

Technological and medical practice advances, with new physicians recruited, have enabled the hospital to treat complex medical conditions formerly referred to large medical centers. The hospital has made a significant economic contribution to the community over the past five years, with $34.5 million in capital investment on the campus and nearly $10 million contributed each year in charity care and un-reimbursed medical services. In FY 2006 the hospital provided approximately $20 million in charity care and unreimbursed services and is budgeting for $25 million in FY 2007.

  • New specialties continue to be added, providing new and expanded services in cardiology, diagnostic imaging, physical therapy, wound care, hyperbaric medicine and occupational medicine.

  • Four new operating rooms have been added to the six existing, newly remodeled and updated operating rooms.

  • Since 1999 the number of co-workers at Mercy Memorial has grown by 33%, with an annual payroll of $30 million.

  • For the past 10 years, Mercy Memorial has supported rural neighboring hospitals and clinics, including Healdton, Marietta, Davis, Sulphur, Wilson, Ratliff City, Ringling and Tishomingo, allowing the local hospitals to remain open and viable.
