Quality indicators:

Why should patient satisfaction be important to you?

Patient satisfaction surveys and scores tell us (and you) how well we take care of our patients. Was the food good? Was your room clean? Did you understand what your doctors and nurses told you? High patient satisfaction scores mean we’re doing a very good job of listening to patients and visitors.

Inpatient care

Experience and skill combined with compassion
Mercy surveys nearly all of our hospital inpatients because we value your opinion. Patient satisfaction results reflect the personal side of care:

  • Are the doctors and nurses willing to listen, answer questions and explain treatments?

  • How much time do the doctors spend with the patient?

  • How clean is the hospital?

  • How good does the food taste?

You can use this patient satisfaction data to predict what your experience is likely to be.

Of the 50 areas included in the results, Mercy consistently scores above the national average for hospitals participating in the survey. Our patients tell us we are among the top 10 percent of hospitals nationally for questions about:

  • Pain control

  • Staff attentiveness to spiritual needs

  • Friendliness and courtesy of Mercy’s maternity, intensive care and rehab units
