Patient and Guest Services
Visiting Hours
Open Hours
Mercy has open visiting hours in all but
a few patient areas. Open hours means visitors may come at any time
according to the patient's wishes. Intensive
Care Units (ICU and NICU)
ICU
and NICU patients may have two visitors at any time during the day or night
except during nurse shift change, which occurs from 6:30 to 7:30 am and 6:30
to 7:30 pm.
Guidelines
To support quality care for patients, visitors are asked to observe a few
guidelines:
-
Mercy is a
smoke-free facility. Visitors may not smoke in patient rooms or near
building entrances.
-
Visitors
should dress appropriately and must wear a shirt and shoes.
-
The number
of visitors in a patient's room is restricted by the location of the
room. Please check with the nurse and observe the limit.
-
Visitors
with colds, sore throats or any contagious disease should not visit
patients.
-
Visits
should be kept short.
-
Visitors
should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
-
Visitors may
be asked to leave the room during tests or treatment, or when the
physician or nurse needs to see the patient.
-
Visitors
should not bring food or beverages to patients unless approved by your
doctor or nurse.
