Health Careers Exploration Day

Dear Educator,

Mercy Health Center is excited to announce its sixth annual Health Careers Exploration Day on Friday, February 1st, 2008 from 9am - 3pm. Our past fairs have been a huge success and we are already looking forward to next year! The goal of the fair is to introduce the many health care professions available to high school students. Studies indicate that students at a high school level and below are generally unaware of the endless opportunities that await them in health care. It is our mission to provide a complete, comprehensive hands-on experience by exposing them to the many faces of health care occupations. Examples of these occupations include:

• Nursing

• Radiology

• Respiratory

• Laboratory

• Emergency

• Pharmacy

• Physical Medicine

• Nutritional Services

• And MORE…….
  

At the fair, students will visit informational booths from a variety of areas. In addition, we will provide many hands on activities and make this a fun and exciting event for the students. College representatives will also be present to give students information on further schooling and health care programs.

Please take a few minutes to look at your school schedules. I’d like to go ahead and pre-reserve slots for each school. Typically 1-1 ½ hours gives students plenty of time to see all the booths. Slots fill up fast, so be sure and send your request in soon (don’t forget to include number of students that would attend)! I’ll need for you to pick the best possible time slot for your students between the hours of 9am-2pm.
