Diabetes Management
For
those trying to navigate a new diabetes diagnosis or refresh
their knowledge, this class offers discussions related to
self-care skills, meal planning, prevention of complications,
tips on monitoring blood glucose, physical activity and more. An
initial appointment and referral from a primary care physician
are required before attendance.

Support Group
A support group for people who share the common experiences and
problems of diabetes. Through regular contact with others in
similar situations, members share a common bond and receive
emotional support, discuss symptoms, treatments and receive
current information from a certified instructor.

Perinatal Loss
Bereavement Counseling
Nothing can prepare parents or families for the death of a
child. Special counseling is available for those suffering from
the loss of a baby after birth or through a miscarriage.

PRIDE: Parents Responding to the Infant Death Experience
PRIDE is a support group for parents responding to an infant
death experience. Through regular contact with others in similar
situations, members share a common bond and receive emotional
support.

Childbirth Education Classes
A two session course to help parents prepare for the experience
of childbirth. Topics include stages of labor, comfort measures,
interventions, pain management, post-partum care, newborn care,
infant and child safety and breastfeeding. After completion of
this class you will know what to expect during your stay at
Mercy Memorial. Feel free to come prepared with your questions.

Healthy Start
Mercy Memorial offers newborn assistance after discharge from
the hospital. Healthy Start is available for breastfeeding
families and offers a free weight check for the baby,
breastfeeding guidance and support.

Just For Teens
A program designed to give one on one interaction with pregnant
teens throughout their pregnancy for issues related to
pregnancy, the delivery and hospital stay and after care.
Referrals may be made by the physician or patient.

Mother/Baby Home Care
Mercy Memorial offers Mother/Baby home care to help in the
transition from hospital to home. A referral is needed from a
doctor after discharge to begin the process.

Annual Women's Health Forum
Mercy Memorial's Women's Health Forum is our annual
event for girls night out. Women of southern Oklahoma are encouraged
to let your hair down, kick off their heels and enjoy an evening of entertainment,
fitness and nutrition advice, and the ever-popular
ask-the-doctor panel.
